Word question

Which one is correct?
He just walked on stage.
He just walked onstage.

I saw him walk on stage.
I saw him walk onstage.

I am confused between the two (on stage vs onstage)!

The same is true for the other sentences. There is no difference in meaning.

And all three forms are correct but the third with 'the' is less common, right?
