001. A lot of dictionaries gave "strand of pearls" as examples so I'm a wondering is there anything wrong with using "strand" in the sentence? 02br

004. marred... i suppose you could use it if you couldnt remember the word marked, but marred is usually used to describe emotional or mental damage, or damage to something non physical .. 02br

"string" is definitely the correct answer

"handled" is the answer for the second one

how about "stories" , or "memories" for the third: either on would be fine.

I think "damaged" is the best answer, but others could work, such as "discoloured", or "marked".
