Word order 'only'

Hi,

(A doctor says this to his patient.)

"Take care so as not to fall when you go for a walk."

Thank you for your help!

I honestly can't imagine how "only" could contribute to the sentence. What does it modify? If it's a last minute caution, I'd put it at the beginning.

Yes, the situation is something like that.

I get it. Thanks a lot.

My advice is always to put the word only as close to what it modifies as possible. In this case, I think Avangi has the answer, as it realliy modifies the entire sentence (almost as an afterthought).
