Word Order ?

Hi all,

I'm a english as a second language student and I find myself too often thinking about word order like this one:
1 - Proposal for a extra work;
2 - Extra work proposal;

This problem arises too many times because in my official language we would have said "time free" - tempo livre in Portuguese - instead "free time".
Is there any grammar rule or anything I can use to help me on ?

Best regards,
utxeee.

Hi Most of the time, the adjective will come before the noun. Free time adj followed by noun Extra work proposal adj followed by noun unless you put in a preposition in which case you can turn it around and say as you have proposal for extra work, although that doesn't sound quite natural.
