Word order

Hello guys, please help me. I am quite unsure about what a statement and question are grammatically. We use the word order for a statement and not a question. Unfortunately for me, i do not what is the difference between a statement and a question and how to spot either one. Could anyone please help? Thanks a lot again !

A question usually ends in a question mark:

Who is...?
What do the staff...?
Are they...?
Why don't you...?
Can Canadians...?
Shouldn't everybody..?

A statement asserts something and ends in a period or exclamation mark:

John eats...
Everybody makes....
The Eiffel Tower is....
We perhaps could...
My mother has never...!
