Thanks a lot. I also prefer 'by'.

But what do you mean by 'because the pancreas is the organ that produces insulin'?

Do you mean that it not possible to say: insulin is produced 'from' the pancrease.

The crowd comes from inside the stadium and into the streets, celebrating their victory.
The stadium did not produce the people, but it is OK to say that the people flow from the stadium.
In the same way, it is OK to say that insulin exits (comes from inside) the pancreas. But so does blood as it courses through every organ in the body.

Hi AStars, would you tell me if what I said in my previous post was correct please!

Also, would it be correct to also say?: insulin is made by the pancreas; insulin is made in the pancreas.

AnonymousSo both 'produced' and 'secreted' are best to be followed by 'by', which indicates that the pancrease makes and produces it. Am I correct?
Yes, that is more exact.
Make and produce are synonyms.

This is even medically more exact:

Beta cells are unique cells in the pancreas that produce, store and release the hormone

AlpheccaStars even medically more exact:Beta cells are unique cells in the pancreas that produce, store and release the hormone insulin. Located in the area of the pancreas know as the islets of Langerhans (the organ’s endocrine structures), they are one of at least five different types of islet cells that produce and secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream.

Hi AStars, sorry to bother you again, but would you please confirm that what I said in my last post was correct!

Thanks in advance.
