Word meaning "death by fire"

Other than immolation... Is there one? I've asked a few of my friends, all of whom are avid readers who read 1-2 books every day. All of them say, "I think so, but I just can't think of it. It's in the back of my mind". I keep thinking it starts with either an "ex-" or a "de-". One of my friends thinks it also might start with a "de-". Any suggestions, or am I going crazy? I was sure there was something other than immolation.
Thanks

Are you thinking of "auto da fé"?
It doesn't properly mean burning at the stake, but (thanks to Voltaire and Mel Brooks, I think) it's often thought of that way
