Word for "using excessive means for something which is not worth it"

Dear all, I am looking for a word, somewhere near "exaggerated" but probably starting with "over-..." which represents the idea of using excessive means for something which is not worth it. For example, using a shotgun to kill an ant. What would you use? Thank you!
