WORD DEFINITION

The context is that a man who had been traveling overseas a lot had just came home unexpectedly. Here is the sentence to describe his sister's reaction ' for her judgement had been so blinded, that she could hardly be said to show any sign of alarm. Anyone can help me define the word'blinded' in this context? Or does it mean aimless? or wrong?

Top answer

It's a figurative use of "blinded". Her judgement isn't working, as sight doesn't work for someone that is literally blinded.
