Word correction

Could you please let me know if this sentence is correct ? Is there any better way of expressing the same meaning including the idiom "chicken feed"?

"If you are working with that employer for chicken feed, you should immediately resign and find some better job."

You can work for chicken feed, I guess, but more often you work
