Word choice: Counterpart or translation?
Hi. I'm writing a paper and creating tables. In one column, there are foreign words followed by their respective English translations. Which one of the following sounds better as the heading of the column?
a) Portuguese Word (English Translation)
b) Portuguese Word (English Counterpart)
It seems a bit strange for me to use the word 'translation' regarding single words, so I've thought that 'counterpart' was a good choice. But is it natural?
