Word Choice and Meaning

Hi, I was just wondering, does silly/foolish work better in this sentence? I'm not sure if in terms of meaning foolish works as I've always viewed it as a word to describe something that's stupid, and in this instance I was miming to blend in...

That being said, I feel like "absurd" is too strong a word to use, and "silly" isn't strong enough...

" I did what any other self-conscious teenager would do: I began to mime.

Now, it seems like a silly/foolish thing to have done, especially as I had to play in front of Mr Pash during my lessons, but during that first rehearsal, I just couldn’t do it. "

This is purely a question of personal tastes, but my instincts tell me to use "foolish". CJ

That's what I'm inclined towards, as silly could potentially imply that it was light hearted, but do you think it's OK in terms of meaning? I tend to see it as a stupid act, and I'm not sure this quite falls into that category - unless you can explain how it does

No, I don't think it falls into that category in the given context.
sailsofoblivionPossibly overthinking this!
Yes, possibly.

What category of foolish would you say it falls into? Illogical?

Maybe. 'illogical' shading into 'misguided' maybe.

On that note, however, do you think "Illogical" could work better than "foolish"?
