Are these sentences clear and a good choice:

I understand that carpet samples were left at your house for your selection. In order for your project to stay on track we really need those selections by the beginning of next week or it could change the completion date.

Your version is ok but a little questionable and fuzzy. Here are my questions after reading your post. Is there any reason you say " I understand...", and used passive voice to make your point? Who left the carpet sample there? To me " I understand" is a filler, or a phrase not appropriate here " I find using passive voice in this situation is weak. We can simply
