Which word is a better choice, 'of' or 'for'?

Hi, Generally speaking, instrument of somebody indicates the instrument belongs to that person, whereas, the i nstrument for somebody implies that the instrument is assigned for that person without any indication of a belonging. For your particular context, both would do fine, however, I am not sure if the word 'instrument' is a good word for that context. Hamid

Generally speaking, instrument of somebody indicates the instrument belongs to that person, whereas, the instrument for somebody implies that the instrument is assigned for that person without any indication of a belonging.
