Word Choice

Which word is a better choice, 'of' or 'for'?
Methil remained in Gauntlgrym and frequently intruded into the elf woman’s mind in order to change her into an instrument of/for the god.

Hi, Generally speaking, instrument of somebody indicates the instrument belongs to that person, whereas, the i nstrument for somebody implies that the instrument is assigned for that person without any indication of a belonging. For your particular context, both would do fine, however, I am not sure if the word 'instrument' is a good word for that context. Hamid
