Word choice

I said, "he has changed drastically". My friend says, "you should not use 'drastically' here. Instead, you can use 'tremendously'". What is wrong in using 'drastically'? Is 'drastically' always used to say something negative? I don't understand. Can you help?

Top answer

I think drastically is fine. It also contains an element of speed of change as well as amount of change, which tremendously doesn't.
