Wondering + tense

Hi everyone,

I placed an order for a thing a week ago and I'd like to know what's happening for my order. I am confused with the tense in using 'wondering'. Which is correct?

I was wondering how things were going. (a)
or I was wondering how things are going. (b)

Thanks in advance.
