For a long time, human society has existed the norms for the distinctions in nature between men and women in numerous aspects of living, including in workplaces. It is argued that distributing employment following their gender in jobs should be considerably applied. Nevertheless, in my view, this idea is wrong: gender characteristics just make the difference, but they should not be deemed as a barrier to job opportunities.
Obviously, women are usually known for their most crucial functions: maternal, gentleness, and endurance which suit teaching and caring. Otherwise, males with their muscular strength and their high concentration, have been considered for construction or technical workings. The norm from the past in Eastern culture is men build houses, and women build homes which still exists today, reveals clearly the gender distribution in employment in order to suit both men and women that can make good use of their strengths to optimize their work.
However, I believe that this idea is inconsonant and ineffective in job choices. Excluding males and females from certain professions because of their gender is likely to gender inequality, and even impede economic and social development. Evidently, the absence of reproductive processes in women can shed light on my opinion. Firstly, there are several companies or corporations that tend to avoid hiring female employees or even find a way to lay off pregnant because of the 6-month-maternity-absence when the women cannot make any profit for them. Consequently, females are able to face unemployment and be deemed as a burden that leads to discrimination. Additionally, some phenomena such as gender imbalance, and labor shortage may happen that may be a struggle with society and the economy. In terms of occupations, everyone has the right to apply for their favorite jobs without any restrictions as long as they exert sufficiently necessary abilities and enthusiastic passion.
In conclusion, although it cannot be denied the crucial of gender differences in life, they should not be defined as limitations that people depend entirely on to make their decision of careers. I firmly believe that job opportunities are for everyone both men and women regardless of gender characteristics.
