Anonymousthe "e" in the word "women"My dictionary gives /wim' in/. I say it pretty much that way myself, so the 'e' is very similar to the 'i' in spin, but since the syllable is unstressed, it shades a little toward a high schwa - a sort of indistinct 'i'.
