Without an article OK?

Hi. Is it correct to use a word like "pit" or "snare," both of which, I believe, are countable nouns, without an article, as in the example below? It is a Bible verse and it is Isaiah 24:17 of the New International Version.Thank you in advance for your help.

Terror and pit and snare await you, people of the earth.
