With your legs closer

I am not sure how to say it naturally in English.

The other day , in the subway , a man was sitting with his legs wide open and made me feel very uncomfortale. In such case, can I say as follows?

Would you mind make your legs closer? I don't want your legs touch mine.

Top answer

I'd be inclined to find another seat. Subway etiquette seems to vary from one country to another. " (singular - less suggestive) I'd prefer to avoid conversation with such an insensitive person.

If you feel inclined to strike up a conversation, you could say, "Would you mind closing your legs a bit?"
OR "Would you please close your legs?"
OR "Could you please move your leg?" (singular - less suggestive)
