How would you say this please?

They asked me how I could afford that on/with such a small salary.

They are both perfectly fine to use, while "on" is probably the better choice. It just flows better.

but you can definitely use both

"With" may be possible... but we generally say someone is "on a salary", so I recommend going with "on".
