It is, then, easy to conclude that Mr Mo, having grown up in poverty and with very little, is grateful for where life has taken him and for what his country has done for him and allowed him to do.
I think "little" is an adjective here. So what does it modify? If it's not a adjective, could you explain the meaning of the phrase here?
