Chloe and Tess are in a building where the temperature
is too hot and their air supply is quickly running out.
Chloe: "Checkmate" is gonna be here any minute.
Tess:(with a piece of ice on her forehead) As long as they torture
us with the AC on, (in a cool room or she's refering to Alternating current
and the Electric chair?) I'll die happy.

Hi, I think, despite the awkward situation they currently find themselves in, Tess is making a joke. Tess says she prefers any other way of being tortured to being tortured by having to stay in a room where temperatures are unbearable, which sounds slightly ridiculous, because nobody likes to be tortured even if the temperature is nice. So, that's why I think AC means air conditioning.
