Vocabulary

"with" structure

Hi,

In the following two groups of sentences, is the first sentence of the two groups always better than the latter? namely is sentence 1 and a always better than 2,3 and b,c. I mean, to my knowledge, 1 and a (which have "with" structures) are a more compact sentence structure and sound more idiomatic. So maybe the sentence 2,3 and b,c are all correct, but they might not as good as sentence 1 and a to the English native speakers' ear So, please help me with this. Thanks very much!

1. We repurchased S-751 for production and the items are scheduled to be shipped on October 25 with an quantity of 300 kgs.

2. We repurchased S-751 for production and the items are scheduled to be shipped on October 25. The quantity is 300 kgs.

3. We repurchased S-751 for production and the 300 kgs of S-751 are scheduled to be shipped on October 25.

a. We sent two preshipment samples today to the attention of Michael by Fedex with the lot numbers 20100810-1 and 20100810-2,respectively.

b. We sent two preshipment samples taday to the attention of Michael by FedEx and the lot numbers are 20100810-1 and 20100810-2,respectively.

c. We sent two preshipment samples taday to the attention of Michael by FedEx. The lot numbers are 20100810-1 and 20100810-2,respectively.

Thanks!

Hello, Yanx. I don't know where you got the idea that the 'with' structure is particularly good. I certainly think it is awkward... as are the others; they are all too verbose, and the use of 'respectively' in the 2nd set is simply wrong. Here are my suggestions:

We repurchased 300 kg of S-751 for production and it is / they are scheduled t
