With relative depth information

Hi,

Can you help me in understanding the following sentence ?

"Most of the cues required to provide humans with relative depth information are already present in traditional 2D films"

Top answer

I'd say "relative depth information" pertains to the knowledge or awareness that point A is closer (or farther away) than point B in a particular field of vision. "Cues" would be "clues" other than the stereo-optical effect of two points of view (two eyes). Eg, we learn from experience that railroad tracks appear closer together in the distance.

Thanks and another question.

do you know what "credited with" means in this sentense "whose film Avatar was created in 3-D from the ground up and is largely credited with the revival of 3-D" ?

The film is given credit for [causing] the revival.

If you wish to remove it from passive voice, you can say, "People generally give the film credit for the revival of 3-D."
