With or without the article?

At every stage of implementation

or

At the every stage of implementation

Thanks.

Use the first. You should never put an article before every. At every stage of the implementation is also a possibilty depending on the context.

Hi,

Both can be used....but depend upon the context.

If you are giving stress for the 'stages' then you will have to use 'the'.

Eg: At the every stages of a child's growth, we should be ....................

Thanks.

Hi Toms,

The word every is a determiner. Determiners normally take no articles (which are determiners themselves). There are a few exceptions but every isn't one of them, I think. BTW every needs a singular noun. (every stages is wrong)

Hi Ivan,

Thanks a lot. Actually I wrote it to get an answer to show my friend(and enemy) who always insists his studenst to use 'the' before 'every'. He also says 'my' is a 'pronoun'. Notonly that once he used my system and gave a wrong answer and even spoke rudely to one of our moderators namely Mr.MisterMicowbar. After that I almost stopped visiting this site. Anyway thanks again Mr.
