With or without THE

Could you kindly explain why THE is or is not used in the following sentences:

The English translation of the Srimad Bhagavatam with comments by AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Known as “the ripe fruit of the tree of Vedic literature,” Srimad-Bhagavatam is the most complete and authoritative exposition of Vedic knowledge.

History of Srimad Bhagavatam is described in the beginning and at the end (SB 12.13.19).
....... Vyasadeva took these four verses and expanded them to compile the Srimad Bhagavatam, which is known as the ripened fruit of Vedic literature because it directly describes Krsna's transcendental pastimes.
