Mr. M, I think the meaning might be unclear in the second sentence without the "it."

"I love my new Yoga Barbie; I can make her move in the way that I want to."

"It's time to recharge my Roomba robot vacuum. The remote control lets me make it move in the way that I want it to."

Hello.

I can´t understand well the difference in your sentences. Why do you use "IT" in the second sentence and no in the first one?

Thanks.

I can make Yoga Barbie move in a way that I would like to copy with my own body. She can move in the way that I want to.

"It's time to recharge my Roomba robot vacuum. The remote control lets me make it move in the way that I want it to."

I can make the Roomba move where I want
