With one leg on either side

A dictionary says : Straddle v. sit or stand with one leg on either side of.

As of I know, 'either' in that phrase means 'each of two', which is plural in meaning. Thus, I suppose I'm being forced to substitue 'two legs' for 'one leg.' Please, Tell me the truth.
