with of without the 'of'

Hi,

Please take a look at the sentences below:

(1) The volume level of speech is too low this time
(2) The speech volume level is too low this time

I guess either is ok? Still, if you feel there are some differences ( stylistic or whichever) between the two, would you please comment on them?

Hi Muscovite You can use either, but, as a native speaker I would use (2) - "the speech volume level is too low". I can't really explain why, it just seems more natural and more fluent. Best wishes Mo
