Is this sentence grammatical:



"I entered the game with my guard low, as I initially didn't think I was in danger."

I understand what you mean, but we don't say it like that. "let one's guard down" is the expression you want.

I had let my guard down when I entered the game because, at least initially, I didn't think I was in danger.

Or, closer to your version, you could have

I entered the game with my gu
