With addition of

Pasta's basic ingredients are flour and water, sometimes with addition of eggs or oil.

Do you think the "eggs or oil" is specific enough to put a "the" in front of "addition"?

Just like:

Pasta's basic ingredients are flour and water, sometimes with the addition of eggs or oil.

But actually I just want to make a general reference.
