When you bake bread, you take some raw dough, knead it, let it rise, and then bake it.

That makes a nice loaf of bread. Then you slice it and toast the slices in a toaster.

Nevertheless, we have at least progressed in this thread to the point where we have stopped trying to bake bread in the toaster! What a mess that was! Don't forget to unplug it when you hose it down!

I'm just on the cusp of buying a new toaster oven. My ancient toaster oven just gave up the ghost in a shower of sparks. I've been shopping around....the new ones are a little larger, but they can bake pizzas, broil steaks, and toast bread, too.

In the near future, I expect to be making my morning toast in a new countertop digital convection toaster oven!

Did you try cleaning it first? That was my problem. The dang thing wouldn't toast for more than 30 seconds before popping the toast. I turned it upside down and found enough bread crumbs to feed all the pigeons in St. Mark's Square for a month! Now it's working fine. All th
