Wish+wouldn't

Is it OK to use the construction wish+would(n't) for things?

I wish these weeds wouldn't grow so quickly; they are going to smother the crop.
I wish these posters wouldn't contain these ugly photos.
I wish these mountains would be greener.

Anonymous Is it OK to use the construction wish+would(n't) for things? They all seem a little 'off': 'Wish' seems to contain the meaning of 'would', I suppose: I wish these weeds didn't grow so quickly; they are going to smother the crop. I wish these posters didn't contain these ugly photos.
