Wish,would, could

Could you check my sentences? Did I use could and would correctly?

“Oh, I wish I could take root in here!” she said. “So, I would never have to leave this place at nights. I wish I would never have to eat, drink and sleep again. I wish I could stare at the sun till it sets and wait for his return the next day.”

It should be "I wish I never had to ...". The other instances of "would" and "could" are correct.

I would delete the comma after "So". It is not very clear to me whether "his" refers to the sun or to a person previously mentioned. If the former, "it ... his" does not seem consistent.
