Wishing "A" Happy Holidays OR Wishing Happy Holidays

Hello,

If I wanted to write the following, which is grammatically correct?

Sarah wishes everyone a happy holidays!

Sarah wishes everyone happy holidays!

(and if you have an explanation as to why, that would be appreciated!
