Wished /acted as if

wished /acted as if

I know that

'I wish I were you' implies I cannot be 'you' and it is a kind of Conditional 2.

'He acts as if he knew all' implies it is not true that he knows all and it is also a kind of Conditional 2.

What I want to know is that

'I wished I met you' is possible to use and it is a kind of Conditionals or it is a past version of 'I wish I meet you'?

'He acts as if he knows me well' is okay to use and then how about 'He acted as if he knew me well'? Is it a kind of Conditional 2 or just a past version of the first sentence?

He acts as if he knows me well. ( it is likely for him to know me well )

He acts as if he knew me well. ( it is never possible for him to know me well)

He acted as if he knew me well. ( Which meaning is implied, likely or never?)

He acted as if he had known me well. ( Which meaning is implied, past or more past?)

I feel like my question this time is somewhat confusing to read but I hope that you can understand my point and please, don't be irritated with this questionEmotion: embarrassed

Thank you so much as always and have a good and safe day.

" is okay. This would only be used in certain specific situations, for example: "There's a stranger over there. ", it is not really a question of the likelihood that he knows me well, rather, it is a question of why he is acting like he knows me when I don't remember ever seeing him before.

  • " Some people will use the past tense in this situation rather than the present, but the meaning is the same.
  • " Again, the meaning is why did he act like he knew me well when I don't remember ever seeing him before.

"I wished I met you..." would only be used in very rare situations, for example, in a fairy tale: "I closed my eyes and wished I met you." However, the pattern, "I wish I met you...", is often heard, for example: "I wish I met you before I married my husband."

"He acts as if he knows me well." is okay. This would only be used in certain specific situations, for example: "There's a st
