I was asked to write an invitation for an opening.
I've already written it.

uh-huh. it's okay. but i agree with the cocktail thing. It doesn't make sense.And please capatalize class 1, as in, Class 1.

"to a presentation of its . . . " This sounds like you will show me something.

Nona just meant that the word is 'cocktails' rather than 'cocktail'.
On an invitation, 'cocktails' means that alcoholic drinks will be available, often with small snacks as well. People stand around and talk, and meet each other, and drink a little.
