Wish rules

Hi!
I hope you help me answer this question and tell me the reason i need it as soon as possible Choose: I didn't take my father's advice. I wish i ( took - had taken ) it now.

Anonymous I wish i ( took - had taken ) it now. The now would have to apply to the time of the wishing, not the time of not taking the advice. Therefore most speakers would put now first.
