Like this?

His birthday was yesterday; did you wish him?
Yes, I have wished my friend.

Or isn't that a common expression in English?

Not possible in English; the object is required. I wished my friend a happy birthday.

Ok. Well, I've only ever heard it in spoken Hindi-English. There it seems to be quite common. My fiancee is always nagging me, "It's her birthday. Did you wish her? Wish her!"
