Wired in

Hi,

"We've only been doing integrals for a few days, so it's no wonder that they're not wired in my brain yet."

Can I use 'wired in' when I'm talking about having a good knowledge of something and being able to react to it quickly when I come across it, in this case the opposite?

Thank you.
