Wired

Hi,

Let’s say that I just came back from an evening run and I’m full of energy. If I had problems to fall asleep because of that, could I say that I’m too ‘wired’ to sleep?

Is ‘wired’ the appropriate word and if so, is it also used in British English?

Thank you very much. Emotion: smile

I'm a native English speaker in the US, and I've never heard "wired" used like this, or if I did, it was years ago and the expression was used for a very brief period and has gone out of use. Note that the expression "I'm wired." means you're wearing a hidden microphone to record conversations for police use.
