The gas stove flame is drawing
Tectonic wrinkles on the eyelids.
Seismologist of my bosom,
Will you hide me behind
The cigarette smoke ledge?
When book covers stare at us
With that herbivorous grin,
I'll cover you with a rose petal
On the consciousness edge.
How to measure the temperature of the skin
With lips that are dry?
The misted window-glass will
Give me no reply.
