Are the following sentences correct?



  1. 1. I have windows vista on that machine.

  2. 2. The machine has Windows vista operating system.

  3. 3. The machine has Windows Vista as the operating system.

I am trying to understand why I can't use a proper noun in such a situation. Consider the following sentences.
