Wimp out vs Chicken out

Hi

Would you say that these two are almost synonymous?

Chicken out =  I knew he would chicken out in the end.
Wimp out = I knew he would wimp out in the end.

Thanks,

Tom

PS: What about 'to get cold feet'? Would it work also?

I knew he would get cold feet in the end. (

It would work, but it doesn't mean quite the same. It doesn't have quite the same connotations of cowardice.
