I'm trying to return an engagement ring and I ask:

Will/would the ring depreciate in value?

Then I don't see the need for the question at all.

"Will it appreciate/depreciate in value?" is more appropriate for buying a ring, not returning it.
"Has it appreciated/depreciated in value?" is more ap
