Hi
Please tell me which is correct here.
She should avoid overtaking once she knows that the vehicle in the opposite direction would/will very close to her.
I think would suits the place better as we refer to a hypothetical situation. I want to know what others think.

It's not a hypothetical situation. Once is used to say that as soon as one thing happens, something else happens.
