Will you call it a third person when we talk about an animal or thing?

Hello Everyone,

I know that we call 'he' and 'she' third person singular as they are 'one' and also human but I want to know if I am talking about an animal or a thing will you also consider it a third person? If yes then tell me why do you call it a person as it is not a human?

Here is an example:

My cat is beautiful.

I know 'the cat' in the above-mentioned sentence is the subject of the sentence, but can I call it a third person singular?

'Person' is just a linguistic term: reference of a segment of discourse to the speaker, to one spoken to, or to one spoken of as indicated by means of certain pronouns or in many languages by verb inflection.
