Will? why

Hello. According to my Grammar book i have to use will in one sentence, but i don't think it's permissible. Please, let me know who is right and why.

Here is the sentence :

I'm not sure exactly when ___ ( I/be) to Winnipeg - it depends what happens while I am there.

As far as i know i can't use will after when, that's i am asking for your opinion. Thank you

You would need to change that sentence slightly to make it work at all. I'm not sure exactly when I will go/travel to Winnipeg. I'm not sure exactly when I will be in Winnipeg.

  • You would need to change that sentence slightly to make it work at all.
  • I'm not sure exactly when I will go/travel to Winnipeg.
  • I'm not sure exactly when I will be in Winnipeg.
  • The second part of the phrase would only make sense if you were talking about going somewhere else first and then going on to Winnipeg.

Sorry. I made a mistake while copying it. probably because i have been studying for last 4 hours. Anyway

it's :I'am not sure exactly when ____ (I/get) to Winnipeg - it depends what happens while ____ ( I/be) here.

Can you clarify the usage of will after when now?

OK, you would say I am not sure exactly when I will get to Winnipeg—it depends what happens while I am here.
This could be the answer to the question When will you get to Winnipeg?
As you can see, it is possible to have will after when.
