What is the difference btw will and would in:

1. He will be there.

2. He would be there.

2. Either you're talking about the future event with respect to a past one (i.e. future in the past: I thought he would be there), or you're talking about the unlikely event (i.e. it's second conditional: He would be there if he had a free minute).

Are you sure it's always the second conditional? (ex: He would be there if he had a free minute.)

That means : He would be there. = He would be there if he had a free minute.

(the if_clause is omitted).

I would say that would in that case sounds more politely (softly), whereas will sounds more like a statement (like your intention or wish to say that).
